Hey i'm Bastian van Lier and it was Christmas 1990, I was just 8 years old when I unwrapped Heroquest. I was immediately enthusiastic. I started painting my first figures with some Revell paints from the model making shop. 

That was my entry into the hobby and I've stuck with it to this day. It goes without saying that even as a child I dreamed of one day publishing my own miniatures. But first, i should grow up to be a nerd.
From an early age, I was obsessed with board games, miniatures, and all things geeky. Now, as a parent, I can't help but smile when I see my son following in my footsteps.

His love for strategy games and intricate miniatures is already blossoming, and I couldn't be prouder. Who knows? Maybe he'll grow up to be an even bigger nerd than his old man! 

I have remained faithful to the hobby for several decades and have painted and collected countless miniatures and played many, many tabletops and board games. And now the time has come to turn my ideas into dolls.

Inspiration strikes from all corners – books, stories, movies, games and comics. But my tastes are unique, with a keen eye for intricate details and a love for immersing myself in dark, captivating worlds. That's the thrill of tabletop gaming for me.

The creativity of painting miniatures, the model-building aspect of crafting new game boards or dioramas, paired with engaging game systems – it's an irresistible combination.

Painting miniatures is my escape from the daily grind. It's a chance to unwind, focus on the details, and find peace in the creative process.  When I'm lost in the brushstrokes, the world fades away, and I'm left with a sense of tranquility that recharges my batteries. If I then have the right music (preferably metal) or a good audio book playing in the background, I can switch off completely.

I take the creative reins at Remarkable Miniatures, from the initial concept sketches to the final brushstrokes that bring each figure to life.

My name is Ramon Jahn,
positive guy, produced 4 kids (injectionmoulding) and have a fantastic wife (my best mould and safety valve😉). Yes so the technical guy behind remarkable. I always have preferred work over studying, not afraid to try something but only stop when it is perfect. For the past 20 years of been awake many nights because  I didn't know it was impossible, so I did it. 

Ok, let’s talk about miniatures… and the company DTR .
Attention, fellow miniature enthusiasts! I'm not here to discuss gameplay strategies or tactics. My sole focus is on crafting the most exquisite and detailed miniatures that will leave you in awe. 🎨

I have been an independent entrepreneur of De Tinnen Roos for more than 20 years. A foundry in tin and plastics. My path with the miniatures market crossed in 2008 through requests from game publishers. Since then I have had a crazy passion for the most extreme miniatures, and I have ended up in a world of geeks and nerds! This is fantastic! Over the years i have implemented various casting methods and watched the world of 3D grow! From resin casting to 3D printing in 20 years, I would write a book about it,  But only when I’d have finished my story about metal, no. Not heavy metal*!!! But Pewter!  Still cast several tons of tin every year. And I love it! Wanna know more about my metal story? Well therefore is this introduction a bit to short. But please visit my factory and can keep you hours busy with it. 

Just know I will continue with all my energy (and I have been born with some) the journey of making the perfect mini! Trying to go beyond my limitations!

My teachers said once you will never be able to get yourself organised, In mean time travel the world to share my knowledge with fellow producers. I've visited countless factories,  and I am still the most chaotic person with a organised factory 😉. Live your dreams folks! 👋
